Absolutely amazing food and draft beer. Will come again on next visit. Billy the bar tender is absolutely the best!!! Head on his beers was perfect. I recommend this place 1,000 times over. I am not a local so this was a great treat!

They won’t let you use their bathroom unless you dine there. And they will instead point you to a public bathroom two blocks away. Apparently they don’t care about potential customers as this place is already overcrowded. Thankfully another restaurant down the street let me in regardless and I ended up having a pleasant lunch there.

We had brunch here yesterday (Sunday) the food was outstanding and service. We had the Riverwalk dish which was amazing and steak and eggs. Both huge portions, very filling and fresh. Very reasonable prices, great view.

A real zero. 3 out of 4 entries came to table barely warm. Fish and pork way over cooked and tough. Way over priced for quality of food. Draft beer was good. View was great. Will not go back and if you are into value, forget this place.

I really enjoyed lunch here. I sat outside on the patio overlooking the river and Riverwalk. The server was attentive and efficient. I ordered the chowder and the shrimp and grits, both were excellent. The prices were reasonable and the portions were large. Also you can’t beat the view. I would definitely go again.

This was an awesome first time experience. beautiful! We were marveling over the boats, ships, and barges. Its spectacular to sit and just unwind. The people are friendly and food is delicious. We love the board walk of shops, dining and friendly business owner. We took the boat ride and it was definitely worth it. The guides are knowledgeable, friendly, curteous and so fun to speak with. Great for everyone!

Excellent service and staff! It was nice to sit outside with our dog too. The food was excellent, the Shrimp and Crab Nachos are highly recommended!

We discovered this restaurant 2 years ago when we were in town on a day trip. Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was top notch. So when we found out we were going to Raleigh again this year, going back to The George on another day trip was the first thing we talked about. Once again, we were highly impressed, and plan to return again the next time we're in the area! If you're considering going to eat at The George, do yourself (and your taste buds) a favor and go! There's nothing bad on the menu!

Sat down to lunch on the docks next to the river. Excellent service and wonderful food. Started with Gator bites and as u can see by the pic of an empty plate it was delicious!! Fish and chips and the chicken panini was wonderful also. The fries were crisp on the outside with nice soft potato in. The fish was also crispy on the out and juicy and flakey in. The chicken was tender and juicy loads of flavor with the pesto bacon and cheese. Love the sweet potato fries!! Be back again and recommend for everyone 👍😊👍😊

Service was on point and the food was very enjoyable. The only negative part of my experience was that my risotto wasn't warm. Still, it was quite tasty.

Been here twice now and both times were good. It's definitely one of the pricier places in the river, but the quality is there. Tonight I had the Restaurant Week 2017 special meal of Salmon Cakes, Crab Corn Chowder, and Shrimp and Grits. The salmon cakes were excellent, the chowder was on point, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly but grits were a little runny for my taste. Everyone else at my table loved their meals as well. We will be back.

I try to eat different places every where we go. And I'm glad I found this one. The shrimp and grits were amazing by far my favorite. Flavors were spot on and by far the tastiest I've eaten in a while. I'm always hesitant on getting them not knowing how they will be, but glad I did this time. My wife got the Fish and chips and she just bragged on how well the flounder was fried. How it was flaking and not greasy at all. The chips(fries) she said was perfect. The waitress was friendly and helped us with anything we needed. Thank yall for a great meal. And we will see y'all soon

Whenever I am visiting Wilmington I love to eat at the George on the Riverwalk. We can sit outside, and even bring the dog! The food is delicious and the staff is always super friendly!

Lovely scenic spot to eat on the Cape Fear River with a great view of the bridge. Waitstaff is friendly and used to dealing with lots of customers and long waits. On the more expensive side for what you get, but there is complimentary parking and one of the best views in Wilmington. Pro Tip: When you eat outside on the patio order accordingly - your food will eventually start to match the temperature outside no matter how it came out of the kitchen. I always forget and get sad when my warm meal gets cold fast!

We had a wonderful brunch this morning! We started off with the Crab and Shrimp nachos which was PHENOMENAL!! I ordered the Shrimp and Grits. They were everything that I wanted. Absolutely delicious! My husband ordered the Blacked Grouper Reuben. It was different and was not his preference but it was okay. We had enough food to where we both left satisfied with to go boxes in hand. We will definitely return when we are in town again. Service was great too! We sat outside and watched the fog roll in on the river. Great birthday brunch for my husband!

Love a good restaurant

The deck view is the best at sunset for dinner any day of the week. You can make reservations here but its not necessary unless its a holiday or event going on downtown. The food was tasty just wish the portions were a little bigger for the price.

The only reason The George did not get a higher rating is the fact that we were told the wait would be twenty minutes. We had a seat at the bar and waited. People came and went and we finally realized we had been waiting almost an hour. They kept seating people who came well after us. As soon as my boyfriend said something we were seated immediately. When we sat down we noticed at least ten empty tables. It felt as though we had been intentionally overlooked. The food was absolutely delicious and fresh. I ordered the shrimp and crab leg platter, which me and my boyfriend could have easily split. It was so much food! The drinks were good and strong, the waitstaff was polite, and the view was very romantic.

Jack was an amazing waiter. Witty, funny and efficient. The food was amazing as well. We were vacationing from Oklahoma and the outdoor patio seating was pretty cool thanks to all the ceiling fans and shade. Our brunch was delicious, highly recommended.

Really good food. Staff is friendly. View of the river is so really nice. A little pricey, but fair for the quality of the food. Downside is the mosquitoes biting at ya when the sun goes down if you happen to sit outside. Spicy collards are definitely recommended, the asparagus was just average.

This place has amazing brunch. Definitely go for the steak and eggs you will not be disappointed. We had the opportunity to sit outside and Overlook the river while we dined. A very pleasant and enjoyable experience definitely recommend

This place is phenomenal. The food is delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Let me not forget about the cocktails. I love my drinks sweet with a strong punch at the end and that's exactly what I got. I will definitely be returning very soon.

Service was excellent. They were very accommodating for special needs. The food was wonderful. The crab cakes with poached eggs were delicious. The variety was nice, something that appealed to everyone in our group.

I love sitting out by the water, but actually the atmosphere is outstanding throughout. The service was wonderful (thanks Katie for taking such great care of us today). The food is excellent. Five star.

Food was good but service seemed slow even though diners were few while we were there. This slowness included drink refills and large time gaps between appetizer, main course, desert, ... And getting the check. Again, food good but we likely won't go back. Will try someplace else instead.

Great staff and amazing food! Excellent spot for brunch on the water. We had crab salad on a croissant with bacon and the French toast, also with bacon lol. Both were delicious and paired very well with the mimosas. Definitely will be coming back!

This is the best Shrimp & Grits I have ever had! It was so delicious. It was super flavorful and the cheesy grits made it really special. Everyone at the table ended up sharing it because they couldn't help themselves. ;) The burger was wonderful too!The inside of the restaurant was beautiful. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful river view. The staff was great and the whole place was clean and comfortable. If you are anywhere nearby, I would recommend a visit to this gem.

We have lunch here often when traveling to or near Wilmington. We love the menu and the food has always been delicious and well presented. Service is always friendly and prompt...and the setting is perfect, especially on a nice day when sitting outside is a great option...wonderful view of the river and all its activities.

Shrimp and crab nachos can't be beat. So generous with the toppings I needed a fork! Crab cake Benedict (Riverwalk) was good too although the side of fruit was pretty sad.

A must dine place .... on the water front. Excellent food. We enjoyed the sea food. And for a first time, even had alligator. We chose the alligator bites. Delicious.

We went there for lunch. The food was very good. Great view of the Cape Fear Riverwalk and Cape Fear River.

Came here by chance, walked by and everything smlled pretty fantastic. I ordered the mixed seafood platter grill and was unimpressed. Sadly, the lobster was overcooked and so was the shrimp. I'm not big on scallops, but when flavored right, they're great, these were mediocre. Food just seemed overpriced for the quality and amount you get. I'm only giving it two stars because the manager provided a 15% off discount to compensate for the disliked food.I would also like to note that the staff ought to be more courteous to patrons at the bar. There were a few that stood around and gossiped or made a scene when they were pressed on time to leave for another job. Very disrespectful and sets a bad tone for a dinner environment.

Just came down to my sister's beach house here in Wilmington North Carolina. And the first place that they take me to eat is here and I must say it is excellent food great service and great ambiance. I suggest if you down in this area and you're visiting this is a great place for a group of friends to get together 🤙
